About TBC Unofficial Archive Mirror

Purpose

The Building Coder was a foundational blog for Revit API developers. When the original hosting went offline, invaluable posts, code, and community discussion became hard to access. This project preserves and restores that knowledge in a usable, searchable form for the community.

What this is

  • A faithful reconstruction of The Building Coder blog using publicly available sources, primarily the GitHub repository by Jeremy Tammik: github.com/jeremytammik/tbc.
  • Content has been retrieved, cleaned, and rehosted with minimal changes to structure and wording for accuracy and longevity.

What this isn’t

  • Not the original site and not an official continuation. It’s a community-driven archival effort.
  • Some content (e.g., images, comments, embedded media) may be missing or partially restored due to gaps in the archives.

Attribution and licensing

  • Original authorship and credit belong to Jeremy Tammik and credited contributors of The Building Coder.
  • The reconstruction uses materials from the public repository above and other publicly accessible archives as applicable.
  • If you are a rights holder and want any content adjusted or removed, please contact me.

How it was rebuilt

Contributing and corrections

  • Currently preparing a public repo on GitHub for this project for the contribution and the transparency of the project.

Known limitations

  • Some posts may be incomplete if no complete archival copy exists.
  • External links may point to defunct resources; replacements are added where credible alternatives exist.
  • Some links between the blog posts may be broken due to the lack of data in the archives.
  • All video and other contents attached to the original blog posts are not included in this reconstruction at this time.
  • Some navigational links within the blog posts may be broken
  • some images may be missing or incomplete due to the lack of archives.

Acknowledgements

Deep thanks to Jeremy Tammik for creating and sharing The Building Coder and the public repository that enabled this preservation. Thanks to the Revit API community for ongoing help in archiving and verifying resources.

Mission

Keep The Building Coder’s insights accessible, searchable, and useful for today’s and tomorrow’s Revit API developers.
